Moss Da Beast




Moss Da Beast grew up on the Southside of Chicago. By the age of 9, he had witnessed many violent crimes, so he chose rapping as diversion of his environment. Early on his musical influences were NWA, Run DMC, and LL Cool J. He was also heavily influenced by his cousins Relentess, J Boosm and Murdah. He was amazed by their rhymes and battling skills. He immediately learned the importance of writing. Moss has always been competitive and strived to be the best at all he did. Growing up, he was a baseball phenom. An all star from the ages of 10-19, he traveled the country playing baseball and was recruited by many top scouts. At the time he knew he would be successful playing baseball or rapping. As a student at Valparaiso University, he studied marketing to learn how to market and promote his music. He also studied business and concentration in arts entertainment and media management. His popularity on campus grew and he became a regular guest on the campus radio station's hip-hop night.




His first professional release titled "The Hit List", was in 2004 under Selfmade/Relentless Records. He sold 1000 cd's within the first 5 days. The success of The Hit List afforded Moss to concentrate on his music full-time.
Moss is now an independent artist embarking on his solo career with 7 years of experience in management and as a recording artist. He relocated to Nashville, TN, where he has performed at over 100 show, traveling between Nashville and Chicago. He also manages an up and coming R&B/Soul singer, Andena. They currently have a new single "They know it's me" which is becoming an instant success. Moss DaBeast has a new Mixtape, Almost There that was released on August 26, 2010.
